The region's high rainfall, coupled with very high disease pressure, especially in Rueda, and very early ripening, are the key characteristics of this vintage. In 2020, we are delighted to celebrate full organic certification in Rueda (as in Toro since 2018). Uniquely and exceptionally, the harvest began at both wineries (Toro and Rueda) on the same day, September 3rd. For red wines, this is a very early start.
Cold pre-fermentation for 4 to 5 days at 6°C with sustained extraction, cork piercing, and pump-overs before alcoholic fermentation. Malolactic and alcoholic fermentation in egg-shaped tanks. A portion is fermented in stainless steel tanks. No SO2 was added.
Dark and dense purple color.
The wine is remarkably fresh on the nose and extraordinarily deep at the same time. Primary aromas dominate: wild red berries and fresh cherries. The attack is fresh and lively, thanks to its acidity.
The palate is voluptuous, marked by nuances of currant, elderberry, and paprika. Delicate, round, and structured at the same time, with the natural tannic signature of Tempranilla.
