Panca is the typical element of our soil: a sedimentary formation composed entirely of clayey marls alternating with layers of sandstone. Panca exhibits low fertility and a good capacity for water retention, imparting unique characteristics to the grapes and wine, such as flavor, color, body, tannins, and minerality.
The harvest takes place when the grapes are overripe on the vine, an agronomic technique that enhances the color and softens the tannins, especially in the Pignolo variety. The Merlot and Pignolo grapes are selected on the vine and vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel fermenters. Malalactic fermentation and blending follow. Aging takes place in French oak barrels for at least 24 months, while bottle aging continues for at least another 6 months.
An intense ruby red.
On the nose, an explosion of berry fruits: blackberry, blueberry, touches of cherry and balsamic notes.
On the palate, it shines: smooth, with plenty of character, full-bodied, and with a very pleasant, controlled acidity that adds freshness to each sip. The tannic, silky texture of Merlot integrates with the more rustic and vigorous character of Pignolo.
