This Chardonnay elegantly expresses the unique characteristics of a sandy vineyard in the heart of the Guadalupe Valley. Due to the typical summer heat, aromas and sugars develop rapidly while acidity is delayed. Fortunately, this results in a wine with intense aromas that retains its acidity and freshness. Because of this asynchronous ripening process, prolonged waiting for harvest is unnecessary.
The wine is made using whole-cluster pressing, with partial vinification in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation rounds the wine out and adds creaminess.
It is a wine of a very clean and crystalline golden yellow.
It is very intense and complex, starting with light notes of beeswax, then it begins to open up and unfolds tropical notes of ripe pineapple, melon and bananas with a background of creme brûlée accompanied by honey that gives it a very long finish.
